Beautiful deer hide and rabbit fur mittens created by Sayisi Dene First Nation artist, Shannon Macmillan. One pair features grey rabbit fur and the other has black rabbit fur. Each pair is lined with a cotton and polyester fabric. The artist creates mittens, leather purses, and moccasins as a way to feel closer to her grandmother Alice Lightbody (Powderhorn) who hung up her sewing needle and who has turned over the family’s leather-craft responsibilities to Shannon.
